Easy steps to build CONFIDENCE
I’m no expert when it comes to being a confidence queen but I do however have tons of girls that look up to me (my sister is 15 and in high school so I think it stems from that) I actually, just received a message yesterday from a girl at my sisters school. She told me how much I inspire her and she hopes to be like me when she grows up. (one of the best feelings in the world is receiving messages like that) All I want to do is make the world a better place, by being kind to others. If young women see what I’m doing and I inspire them to want to help others. I’m pretty damn proud of myself for that. Social media can be cruel. High school can be cruel. Teaching girls to grow up to be kind, genuine and helpful to others is one thing I set out to do. I know what it feels like to hate things about myself, to doubt my self worth, or feel like I’m not enough. I am NOT the most confident person, I am flawed, we all are. I have just learned to appreciate the qualities I have been blessed with and accept the qualities I don’t have. I’ve been picked on over my appearance, I’ve been judged because of my outer appearance. (As if I get it choose what I look like) I have been broken up with because I wasn’t smart enough. (In their opinion, of course.) I’ve been in relationships that made me feel like I would never be enough unless I looked how they wanted me to. It all took a toll on my self confidence because I thought I had to be everything for everyone. My point is we all have reasons to why we should feel insecure or make us lack confidence but our strength is being confident with what we are, not what others expect us to be. The most confident people don’t think they’re ALL that they have just learned to accept who they are.
As cheesy and cliché as it sounds smiling is contagious & people who walk around smiling just seem confident.
Stop comparing yourself to others
Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. Continuously competing with others will make you bitter not better. *if I stare at big boobs long enough, I’m going to be jealous of not having bigger boobs. We have to stop wasting our days comparing ourselves to someone we aren’t.
No one will even think you have any insecurities if you can make eye contact with them.
Write down things you do well
Once a week take an evening or a morning to write down why your proud of yourself. What do you do well? What do you bring to the table? Pep yourself UP!
Here are a few examples of what I mean:
I am great at time management
I am a good listener
I take the time to help people I love
I am good at making others happy
I made it to the gym 5 days this week
Knowledge is power. Feed your mind with positive information and the ability to learn. Being able to speak on topics in conversations will make you feel confident.
Keep shining like the star you are! Have a great week.
